In the chase for the Trigon TA3 American Muscle Championship
Plymouth, MI / November 10, 2015
With only one event remaining on the 2015 Trans Am schedule, Todd Naperalski in the #39 TREMEC Chevrolet Camaro is in the chase for the Trigon TA3 American Muscle Championship.
At the inaugural Trans Am Race at Circuit of The Americas, Round 11 of the 2015 Trans Am Championship (Austin, TX | November 7th), Todd finished second for his seventh of the year.
“Another close one at COTA Saturday,” said Todd. “A great battle. I took the lead on the last lap from Ernie Francis. Things were looking good for the win until my engine seized up with a few turns remaining. Devastating to say the least.”
The race checkered on a time, having run the duration of its allotted 70-minute window completing 24 laps out of a previously anticipated 30. The race was shortened considerably by three lengthy full course cautions to remove cars stopped off course in unsafe locations.
With 273 points, Todd stands in second place in the TA3 American Muscle class - increasing his Championship chances. The Trans Am Series will now head south to Daytona International Speedway for the Bullet Liner Championship Weekend, Round 12 of the Trans Am Championship, and the final Trans Am race of the year on November 14, 2015.
