Bureau Veritas announced that it has awarded the ISO/TS 16949 Quality Management System Certification to TREMEC’s hi-tech manufacturing facility in Zedelgem, Belgium, for the design and manufacturing of manual and mechatronic transmissions and subsystems.

ISO/TS 16949 is the primary standard for the automotive industry throughout the world. It is a technical specification aimed at the development of a quality management system that provides for continual improvement, emphasizing defect prevention and the reduction of variation and waste in the supply chain. It is based on the ISO 9001 standard, and was prepared by the International Automotive Task Force (IATF) and the Technical Committee of ISO.
The TREMEC Querétaro and Pedro Escobedo, Mexico facilities have been ISO/TS 16949 certified since 2006.
