Bureau Veritas announced that it has awarded the IATF 16949 Quality Management System Certification to TREMEC’s hi-tech manufacturing facility in Zedelgem, Belgium, for the design and manufacturing of manual and mechatronic transmissions and subsystems.
“This certification shows our automotive customers worldwide that TREMEC is committed to being recognized as a long term supplier of quality goods and services that satisfies the tough ISO automotive standard,” commented Antonio Herrera, TREMEC Managing Director. “The inspection confirms that our management and control systems are ideally suited to provide our customers with the highest quality level, and to guarantee a commitment to continuing improvement on quality levels in the future.”
IATF 16949 is the primary standard for the automotive industry throughout the world. It is a technical specification aimed at the development of a quality management system that provides for continual improvement, emphasizing defect prevention and the reduction of variation and waste in the supply chain. It is based on the ISO 9001 standard, and was prepared by the International Automotive Task Force (IATF) and the Technical Committee of ISO.
The TREMEC Querétaro and Pedro Escobedo, Mexico facilities have been certified since 2006.
